[Green] [possibly spam] IPL Cool Congregation certification and challenge contest

Thank you for looking into this, Rebecca! For reasons I don’t quite remember, I was under the impression that Cool Congregations was interested in recent projects. The year after we won honorable mention (or something like that) from Cool Congregations, we opted not to enter again the following year because all we had to report was addition of an expanded solar array. The project and goals hadn’t changed; we just expanded it, and figured they wouldn’t recognize us two years in a row. Or else, maybe it was that our solar expansion happened in the same year we were awarded honorable mention. I don’t remember, and I don’t see any such constraint on the current application.

But we need to make sure that Cool Congregations doesn’t expect us to enter projects that happened in the past year.

I have a window of time from October 25 through Thanksgiving in which I could be on a team for this. Then I’m out of town again until December 10.

With the solar panels and efficiency improvements to the RE building, we have done that. I have attached the certification application. If we decide to apply, we will need some specific information regarding our projects, their costs, and the energy savings we have seen.

As I read the guidelines (attached), we would seem to qualify in several categories. The entry deadline is December 15. Who would be interested in helping draft entries in one or more categories? We can enter three.
