Sanctuary Committee meeting, the group decided to be added to the Keep
Wayne Wild e-mail list. This means that some of you will get messages twice.

This message contains an update of the status of leasing the Wayne National
Forest for oil and gas drilling and a request that you contact Sherrod
Brown.

Hello, all,

First, the good news: no drilling has been permitted in the Wayne. The
lawsuit filed by the Center for Biological Diversity, the Ohio
Environmental Council, Heartwood, and the Sierra Club has not yet been
heard.

Now, the bad news: after leasing 1,937 acres since last December, the
Bureau of Land Management has announced another auction of 350 acres in
Monroe County, to be held on December 14, 2017. On October 12, seven
organizations, including Keep Wayne Wild, filed an administrative protest
against the Bureau of Land Management's decision to lease more parcels even
without a full environmental impact statement. You can read the protest
