August 23: 3rd and final dialogue session - *We recommend the Board
contact our UUA representative within 1 week and ask advice and assistance
on this matter. *Also, *We recommend the Board contact our UUA
representative for advice on how we can give input to and discuss issues
related to our minister's performance. *
September 11: Board voted to contact "Hope for Us", a UUA team
.
September 17: Beth Casebolt (UUA resource person for FUUSM) met with the
Board on Zoom. She gave us information re: "Hope for Us" and then asked us
to prepare answers to questions she had generated from previous information
she had acquired about our situation.
October 2: Beth came to Marietta to meet with us in person. We discussed
our responses to her questions. This was an effort to get the entire Board
on the "same page." She also presented some options: 1.) Come to
resolution, 2.) A Negotiated Resignation, 3.) Dismissal
Board vote: *The Board is seeking a reconciliation process to address the
current concerns of the Congregation.*
October 17: Met with Connie Goodbread (Hope for Us) on Zoom. She talked
about Hope for Us - their role is advisory, the Board plans the process.
They do NOT do mediation. She said she would send further detailed
information about Hope for Us ... expectations and costs.
Nov. 13: The Board made the following plans:
1.) Will not seek a 2nd meeting with Hope for Us, at this time.
2.) Hire a mediator for those who have alleged to have
experienced abuse
3.) Seek help from a "Community Mediation" team for the entire FUUSM
family.
Board Members: Vic Elam, Karen Binkley, Nancy Luthy, Robin Bozian, Ron
Rees, Darryl Ting
