Dear FUUSM Family & Friends,

I have sad news to share, it is the death of Sam Lamba. His beloved wife of 64 years, Else and their children and grandchildren have all our sympathy and love as we remember them and their many active years with our congregation.

I found Sam to be quite a colorful character, an engaging storyteller, well-read and well-travelled and a good-natured guy. I never saw his picture on a Smuckers jar, though he was a 101 years old (so it is told).

Else & Sam formally joined F.U.U.S.M. in 1987 and served in so many ways. I treasure the times I was able to take tea in the drawing room of their Market Street home in Parkersburg, WV. As with many couples, it is hard to think of them separately.

Though he did not cross the threashold into 2020, we can look forward to honoring Else and remembering Sam with all their family and friends when we prepare to host a celebration of his life later this year. Your memories and stories are welcome- so that his story will be told.

Faithfully yours,
Rev. Kathryn Hawbaker
