3.. Reports from Specific Task Teams:
1.. Aesthetics Team: Committee members gave feedback on decoration of the Sanctuary to Jane Tumas-Serna. In general, reactions were very positive. Recommendations were to provide an insert with written descriptions of the displays and to highlight a few holidays (two Christian displays, Guadalupe, Solstice, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, Buddha's birth) on December 10 and December 17. Jane will experiment with adding lights to the swags.
Kat and Jane will coordinate with the wedding scheduled for December 30.

2.. Special Music Team: Suzyn has scheduled a trio for the Candlelight Service and is working on a solo, trio, and quartet for the future.
Last Sunday in September: Andrew McKnight -- degree of involvement TBD

3.. Worship Associates Team: Martha will place an updated WA Checklist and script in the drawer of the vestibule table. She will also distribute the materials to Worship Associates via email.
4.. Piano Task Force: Kat shared Chris Purdy's report that the Sanctuary piano is in good shape and does not need additional expensive work at this time.
5.. Technology Task Force: Martha reported that Mike Bailey and Ralph Olander have identified a multidirectional microphone that fits within our cost/quality parameters. The Committee voted to follow their suggestions: purchasing one microphone to ascertain whether it meets our needs and is compatible with our environment, following up with a second purchase if it does so
6.. Task Force for the Time for All Ages:
7.. Coordination with Buildings & Grounds: Maggie reported on her conversations with Joe Baker. Maggie will arrange a meeting with Kat to discuss clearing and storage needs and will coordinate with Joe Baker and B & G.
3.. Re-Usable Folder: At the December 13 meeting, the Board will consider final approval of the Philosophy of Inclusion statement. The Philosophy of Inclusion will be highlighted in the December 10 service, and Adeline and Kat will prepare the entire folder for roll-out in January.
4.. Board policy concerning special collections: Shari will report on the Board's policy related to special collections and procedures for counting and recording contributions to special causes -- deferred to January meeting.
5.. Holiday Decoration Dismantling The Committee expressed gratitude to Women's Group and Men's Group for decorating the inside and outside of the church building. They agreed that the dismantling activity, scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 27, should be open to all members and friends of FUUSM. Kat will arrange a casual order-in dinner in the Parlor as an edible thank you. Martha will talk with Cindy Brown, Gary Hamilton, Chris, and Adeline to be sure that all are aware of the dismantling activity.
  6.. Social Justice and Communication
At a past meeting, the Committee agreed that it would be good for members to have contact names

and numbers for often requested community services. Kat clarified that FUUSM does not give

money to those who claim need; instead, persons are referred to particular agencies. Kat will

speak to the Board about the issue. The Committee suggested that the Committee Round Table on

January 20 would be a good time for all to become aware of policy, procedures, and information.

8.. Transition to Social Hall because of painting and repair of the Sanctuary
The congregation will be asked to help with transporting hymnals to the Social Hall after the December 31 service. Also, Maggie will recruit help from Buildings & Grounds.

9.. Community Card Project: The Committee expressed support for both the experience and the impact of the Card Project and thanked John Maddox for continuing to coordinate the project. We reflected that it was a loving way to honor the memory of Luana Maddox.
10.. The Committee was made aware that not all members and friends are on the Birthday List. Adeline suggested that the Membership Committee ask whether new members wish to be included and collect the information. Martha will alert Chris to the need for reexamination of the list and will compose a note for inclusion in The January Confluence.
11.. Budget - Notification of Purchase: Chris Keller reported that she purchased red and green candles at a cost of $52.70.
