Hi, Worship & Music folks, Katy McDaniel and Jim Rapp --

I just received an email from the person who is coordinating the ministerial search that might have needed our church in February.

He informed me that February 7 and 14 will NOT be needed for the neutral pulpit. SO, that means that the services on those two days are completely in our control.

Thank you, Katy, for agreeing to do the reflection for February 7.
Suzyn, you and I need to determine how we are handling the overall planning for the service. (I know that I agreed to be the WA that day.)

Jim, this is probably feeling like good news/bad news to you. I think your approach to the huge fund drive (the exact term escapes me at this moment) is an appealing one. In terms of expansion of the reflection component, The book How Good People Make Tough Choices: Resolving the Dilemmas of Ethical Living by Rushworth M. Kidder came to mind. Are you familiar with it? You mentioned some of the weighing we'll need to do (e.g., preserve features of the building vs. install energy efficient components). You might find some relevant thought processes and examples in the book. I do have a copy, and I am willing to share.

Let me know, please, if questions and concerns come to light as we firm up plans for these two Sundays.

Thanks again to everyone!

Martha McG
