Hi Womens Group,
While Kat is on sabbatical each committee and/or group is responsible for a Sunday service. The Women's Group's date is Sunday March 13. We were going to get the plans for the program started at our last meeting Wednesday February 10 at my house. Seven brave souls braved the snow storm and we had a nice discussion about what we would do, but there were only a few of us.
We more or less decided to do a reflection on the Woman's Movement -Then and Now. Nina Redd and Nancy Lee volunteered with a bit of urging to work on the reflection and Shari Miller is going to sing an appropriate song. But there were not enough of us to finalize anything.
So I am writing to ask if anyone else would like to participate and if Nina, Nancy and Shari still feel comfortable participating.
As I think about how to pull this together. The date was chosen because March is Women's History Month and I think that we can address that in some way. I am thinking that the title of the service will be Celebrating UU Womens History and the reflection will be three women reflecting on some of the changes in their lives because of the women's movement and what meaning that has for them personally. The rest of the program could be readings that address the larger issue of Women's History maybe some historical UU women.
So I want to know if you did volunteer at the dinner, are you still in? Send me an email with your answer. We need a title and description for the Confluence so time is short. What do you think of this idea and how do you want to participate? I have asked a couple of women who don't ordinarily attend our meetings as a way of outreach to all the women of FUUSM.
Let me know what you think -- at church tomorrow or send an email reply.
Thanks,
Jane

All people dream, but not equally.
Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds,
Wake in the morning to find that it was vanity.
But the dreamers of the day are dangerous people,
For they dream their dreams with open eyes
And make them come true. D. H. Lawrence
