[Green] Two Items

1. Climate Corner. Vic Elam's most excellent piece on Jimmy Carter
appeared in the weekend edition of the Marietta Times today.

2. Deep Rock Injection Well Plan. According to ODNR rules,if a public
official requests  a public meeting about any proposed drilling, ODNR will
comply. After consulting with Bob Lane (he and Bob Wilson have the legal
case, which was just won on appeal, against several disposal companies), I
called County Commissioner, Charlie Schilling, and asked him to request a
public meeting to ODNR. He expressed some reluctance, saying that the
public meeting held two years ago at St. Ambrose Church did not do much for
those in attendance. I told him that the argument can be made to ODNR that
there should be no further approval of injection wells until the case from
the Bobs is settled. Charlie told me to call him back next week. Bob Lane
is going to meet with Charlie to in person to make the request for a public
meeting. I'll wait to call Charlie until I hear from Bob.
   In the meantime keep the comments rolling to the Oil & Gas
Resource Management Division of ODNR (announcement attached)
