Hello,
Scribe here. Perhaps we should eliminate the reports that are not directly
GSC business actions. We can still hear about them at the meeting and offer
them to our members as separate items of interest (George always sends them
out to the committee anyway), but let the minutes themselves reflect only
GSC business. So Rebecca's report would be appropriate to include, but
George's, not so much. *Please note; as a committee, we took no action in
support of any candidate, issue, or legislative measures; we only heard
from George about actions of the groups he reported on.* {One possible
exception - I wrote that we talked about Kripchak's ideas being more in
line with GSC goals - I think that would be a biased statement.) As for
discussing candidates by name, as long as it's just the facts of who was
elected and who was appointed to various positions, I don't think that is
biased, but I am open to changing if others see it differently.
Maybe we should be more formal about our "official business" as well. It
was my intention to put forward a motion regarding our taking the lead on
the Climate Justice Revival, but somehow we went right by that. Hence, I
called it a consensus decision.
Important question: Shall I edit the minutes along the lines of my idea of
bias in the minutes? Easy enough to do! Mostly deleting stuff (George's
reports; tone down Kripchak discussion; take another look at wording about
Rulli and Chavez ) Let me know and I'll get right on it!
Adeline
