Good morning, all,

If you have not visited the Fort Street habitat lately, it is lush and gorgeous. A big thank-you to all who have planted, weeded, watered, and mulched the site--the work has paid off.

Speaking of watering, the current site probably will not need weekly watering unless we get a really dry spell. The plants have done what we hoped they would do and seem to have established themselves pretty successfully. The upcoming Phase Two plantings will need water until the ground freezes. On the subject of Phase Two, we have placed an order for several flats of plugs with North Creek Nursery and are waiting for a ship date. Stay tuned!

One of our watering volunteers has suggested that soaker hoses would be a great addition to the site, as dragging the current 100 feet of hose around is time-consuming. I agree, but the grant budget does not contain sufficient funds for several hundred feet of soaker hose--at least, not if we want plants. If we get more financial donations (and three people, two from outside the congregation, have donated to the project thus far), we may be able to make such a purchase.

Again, thanks, everyone.

Rebecca
