[Green] CITF Grant Projects - Invitation to edit

I met with Jay this morning to discuss the project requirements - we had
no Internet or phone last evening.  He sent along to the committee an
outline of what's needed.  I am sure he would be willing to advise you
on what's needed and how it all goes together but my guess is that the
city is going to require a permit and perhaps an engineer (Rebecca
mentioned the one that everybody knows "Nick"?).  The estimate he sent
is for something simple that is almost plug and play except for putting
the panel and charge controller somewhere safe away from vandalism and
installed in the USB portal.  We would not charge money for work for the
project, but there is going to be a cost for the other possible
permitting requirements and the engineer.  Annie

The ready-built charging stations are too small and too expensive. We would also hire someone else to build a picnic-type table as a digital work place and a canopy for shelter and to encase the panels. For the latter task we would utilize some volunteer help for some of the labor.

I think we need to make a basic decision about whether we are purchasing a ready-made solar-powered charging station (for electronic devices) or building one ourselves (I think we are best advised to start with one station (on the east side of the Muskingum River near the River Trail & Front St stores), rather than two The ready-made devices are limited as to users and quite expensive.

>>> Annie, did you see my question in my earlier document (Monday) asking whether we can hire Jay to put together a custom-designed solar-powered charging station and hire someone else to build a picnic-table unit U& canopy connected to the solar panels? An assumption of this idea is that there would be contributed labor by volunteers for the table & canopy construction.
