In case anyone wants to do a little research here are some links that
offer food for thought for our discussion on Sunday.  My criteria is to
figure out simple strategies that fit into the grant amount but create
as high a profile as possible for generating interest in seeing Marietta
as potentially a sustainable community in the making.

Sustainable Cities and Towns – where does it begin? Sustainability is
made up of three pillars: *economy*, society, and the environment. These
principles are also informally used as *profit*, people and planet. A
sustainable city will be one that can meet its social, cultural,
environmental, and political needs, alongside economic and physical
objectives, while ensuring equitable access to all services by
residents, without draining the city’s resources (Rogers 1997).  NOTE:
It seems that water and flooding need to be in the sustainability formula.
