In case you did not get this e-mail from Becca, we need to contact our city council members before tomorrow's meeting.

Subject: important update on Marietta community choice aggregation

I know this is short notice, but if you are able to, please take a moment to contact your city council members before tomorrow's city council meeting!

Earlier this week council met and discussed how to move forward with the city's aggregation plan. As you may recall, a few months ago, council rejected a proposal to accept a bid from Energy Harbor (the new name of FirstEnergy), with whom they had the previous contract. They now must restart the process of seeking bids, but have decided to only accept sealed bids, not proposals, for 12, 24, and 36 months. During the discussion some council members indicated that they intended to go with the cheapest offer, and want the most basic plan available. In other words, they are not looking for renewable energy. Some council members want a short contract, while other prefer a longer contract. They will vote on Thursday to put out the request.

It is important that your council members hear from you now! Let them know that you would prefer that they consider renewable energy, but if they are unable to do so at this time, urge them to choose the shortest contract possible, so that this can be revisited in the near future. A 12 month contract would mean the city would have the opportunity to choose a different plan a year from now, and maybe by then they could be persuaded to go with a greener option.

You can watch the meeting from earlier this week on Marietta City Council's Facebook page here<https://www.facebook.com/watch/live/?v=953534908422834&ref=watch_permalink>. The discussion of this topic begins an hour and 24 minutes into the video.

Here is contact information for the city council members. I am copying and pasting this from the city council website.
