Where's the silver lining in all of this?

There seems to be a rhythm developing in our lives these past couple of weeks. It's quieter these days, and even though lunch gets prepared every day here, lately the cookbooks have been spread on the kitchen table because they offer new opportunities for meals on the monthly menu.

The larder and freezers are still full, so there's no problem in coming up with the ingredients, or experimenting with substitutions. The natural rhythm of daily life has created more time for preparing food. That's turned out to be quite fun...and no disasters yet.

A Note from Jay and Me:  

Our hearts are full as each day passes with more acts of kindness. The blessings of friendship – virtual and in real time are ever present with the advent of meetings online, shared music, the new free school and a new vegan baker delivering bread to the middle of nowhere. In spite of the pain of no new normal yet, some things are working out.
