[Green] Recycling at Red, White, & Blues Fest?

SUPER!! I remember the discussion. The discussion included having the group invest in identifiable Green Recycling Trash Cans, to improve the likelihood of the beverage cans ending up being separated. Having monitors to encourage separation would also help. I'd be willing to donate one trash can - reusable for future similar use. "Splitting the take" would be a nice gesture. I'd take a shift.

Regards,
Dave

I don't have details on this, but I believe the request came to Mike through Jay Phillips of FUUSM and the Blues and Folk group "catering" the event and selling beer in cans (which would be great for aluminum recycling). So we'd need to have bags and a truck or something close by to remove cans for recycling. As I remember the discussion, there was an unanswered question of sharing the aluminum with the Marietta recycling center.
I'm willing to take a shift, but we need to have more info about organizers' expectations.

Friends,

A whole ago, we discussed overseeing recycling at the Red, White, & Blues Fest, which is Friday, July 5, from 6 p.m. probably until midnight or so.

We never committed to this, but I’m willing to take a shift, either from, say, 6 to 9, or 9 until ….? Anyone else willing to help out? My impression is that we stand by the recycling bin(s) and try to prevent trash contamination. Meanwhile, we’d probably get in free (saving a whopping $5), but we’d get to enjoy the music.

If others volunteer to help, I’ll contact the organizers and see if they would still like our help with this.

I don’t remember who proposed that we do this, and I’m sorry we forgot to discuss it at Sunday’s meeting.

Any other volunteers? Please let me know ASAP! I’d say we’d need at least four people to commit to it.
