[Green] YMCA Race August 10

Green Sanctuary people who are helping to recycle plastic bottles on August 10:

     I spoke to Missy Wigal,  the organizer of the YMCA 5K and 10K race on Saturday August 10. She is willing to promote and announce our desire to collect plastic bottles.

    The race will be ending on the Marietta River Trail just before the   Putnam St. Bridge. That's where the plastic bottles will be distributed. She is also going to be distributing granola bars and bananas. I told her to emphasize to participants that wrappers and banana peels should not be put in the recycle containers.

    The awards ceremony will be at the gazebo.

    Missy suggests a recycle container at the race end point (right before the Putnam St Bridge next to the trial) and at the gazebo. Mike, can you arrange to put the containers at those two sites?

    The rest of us (including me) need to monitor that only plastic bottles get put in the recycling containers.

     First finishers will be completing the race about 8:20 then all the rest up until about 10 a.m. Race starts at 8 a.m.
