  Dear Green People,

I accept your invitation. This was to be a one time event. Perhaps you have never been in the kitchen (there is no air conditioner) on a hot summer night. Weather we have 1 or 31 people to run the dish washer, the dish washer is not going to run any faster or cooler. The fan just pushes the hot air around. Sometimes a person's health is more important than "looking good". Have you never had a quick bite that was served on a paper plate? The plates that we were to use are at least recyclable. I personally feel that.... adding an air conditioner to the kitchen, the cost of soap, the use of electric for the dish washer, water, and the well being of the workers, verses 75 recyclable plates, that the plates are a win win situation.

I work until 6, but Jim and Debra inspire to offer to come after work and help with the dishes.

Debra and I have decided if it could make the difference of not using paper plates, we will come in and help with kitchen clean-up even though it is not our month. The members of Green Sanctuary take our initiatives seriously, and the fact that we have helped make these meals a nearly zero landfill event has long been a source of pride amongst us. Thank you very much for voicing this concern and for all that you do. Jim Grecni.

Just wanted to let you know that we are trying recyclable paper plates this Friday night. We will scrape the food off into our bucket and bag it separately for recycling. With the heat, tremendous use of soap and water and the shortage of people on our team, I would like to try it. Everything else we will wash. Stassa
