Really like the proposal. Only change is the one Patty suggested. Mike may
want to weigh in on the extra bin, as he usually asks that the aluminum be
left at the RE building basement door. I suppose that others using our
Fellowship Hall may be encouraged to leave any can they use on the premises
in that bin. Thanks for all of you efforts Dawn.

Subject: [Green] Recycling bin proposal
Dear Green Sanctuary Member,
Attached, please find the first draft of the proposal we discussed at today’s
meeting to ask the FUUSM Council to rent a mixed-recyclables collection bin.
As I was typing it, I realized that we’d still need THREE recycling bins in
the kitchen: one for aluminum that we (i.e., Mike Bailey) collect to sell
for GSC spending money; one for the mixed-recyclables that would be
regularly and frequently emptied into the outdoor bin we are proposing; and
one for the plastics that Rumpke does not accept. (For reasons I don’t
understand, at least for curbside residential recycling, Rumpke accepts only
bottle-shaped plastics. On the other hand, the Marietta Recycling Center
accepts plastics numbers 1,2,4 and 5, and plastic bags). So, we’d still need
three bins in the kitchen.
Please read my proposal and feel free to either send me your comments, or
edit this file directly (using MS-Word Review would be helpful, so I can see
our changes)— or both!
Meanwhile, I will write a brief primer on recycling in FUUSM for the
December Confluence.
Thanks, friends!
