Hopefully my Friend, Charlotte Owens does not mind my sharing this link
with all of you.  Tomorrow, she will be hosting a small training/workshop
based on peer listening and race relations.  I think what she is sharing is
important for all of us and for all of our relationships with others.
Charlotte is an amazing person that I deeply respect for her knowledge and
sincerity.  Take a look and see if you would like to join us on Zoom.  The
session starts at 11:30, so it does overlap with our UU service. However, I
think this may be of interest to you.

They meet for one hour.  We can visit a little bit.  I've set up a separate
zoom link for Charlotte's peer listening training around race to start at
11:30.   Here's how Charlotte describes the workshop:

We want to live together in a trusting, peaceful, safe, just society, with
all people, of all races, ages, etc. At the same time, we as white people
grew up in a society with lots of racist ideas, and with structures that
favor white people.  Everyone has absorbed those ideas, even if we work to
reject them, so we should not be surprised nor harsh with ourselves when we
recognize another one popping out of our subconscious.  How do we use some
tools to learn more about racism in order to dismantle it and heal the
injuries to people of color and ourselves?  This 45-minute to 1 hour
training will look at how we can do peer listening with another
understanding person to look at how we are good, where we make mistakes,
and how we can show love for ourselves, other white people, and people of
color.
