Hello Dear Friends at FUUSM,
It has been so long since I've been with you in person. This is a
great way to keep in touch.
I'm sorry that the world must go through this challenging time, and hope
with all my heart that ultimately, something good will come from it all.
I've had to be a "germaphobe" for many years, taking all the precautions
others are urged to take now. Those precautions have worked.
I've had health problems, but no colds or flu. ( Add protection to your
nose, too, such as Listerine or hand sanitizer. Keep sanitizing wipes in
your car door, too.)
We talked to relatives in England on Sunday. Two of the elderly men
feel that they have recently had the Corona virus. They were very ill but
recovered after in home treatment. Like the US, they don't have enough
tests.
They have stopped visiting in hospitals and nursing homes and have set up a
system for younger people to do the shopping for the elderly so that they
need not leave their homes. Such a great idea!
Husband, John, who will be 90 yrs in Dec., insists on grocery shopping
at least once a week and is hoping that they won't close his golf course!
I'm using this cloistered time to work on my novel and put out messages of
inspiration on Facebook.
I've really enjoyed *The Emigrant Novels,* by Vihelm Moberg, the saga
of a Swedish Emigrant family settling in Minnesota in the 1800's, and *The
Trees, *first book in a trilogy by Conrad Richter about early PA/ OH
settlers. These classics would be inspiring reading for any Americans who,
at present are challenged to be strong and brave.
I'll see you on the other side of this "bug". Let's not give it any
more power over our thinking than it deserves!
 Love and blessings, Sandy B.
