Why is Pride Month in June and not September?

Coffee Hour Volunteers DESPERATELY Needed!

Folks, this is getting serious. There are no coffee hour volunteers
scheduled for this Sunday, Sept. 21. I can probably wrangle together some
substitutes in the next few days, but we really need permanent Coffee Hour
volunteers for the third Sunday of odd months, the first Sunday of even
months (starting Oct. 5), and the fourth Sunday of even months (starting
Oct. 24). That’s a three-hour shift just six times per year! If you can

Can You Chip in for Purchase of Holiday Cards?

Holidays are coming! Please help us purchase holiday cards for our annual
greeting card project, in which we send notes of holiday joy and
encouragement to every resident of our local nursing homes and rehab
facilities. A donation box is in the social hall. Thanks!  —Membership

Our Buildings & Ground Committee is planning a Work Party on Saturday,
Sept. 27, from 10–noon, and you're invited! No tools required—just two
hours of your time and willingness to help.

   6 p.m., Men’s Group potluck, social hall. Mike Lang and Allen Spader
   will host.

Thursday, Sept. 18

   -

   10 a.m., social hall, nursery & stair landing carpet to be cleaned.

Friday, Sept. 19

   -

   11:30 a.m. – 8 p.m., MOV Indivisible, social hall (Lori Flis)

Saturday, Sept. 20

   -

   10:30 a.m., Tai Chi reunion, social hall.
   -

   Because Pride cometh before the fall.

Sunday, Sept. 21

   -

   9:30 a.m., Choir practice, sanctuary.
   -

   11 a.m., Sunday service, sanctuary. Jewish High Holy Days: New Year, New
   Spirit, with Deborah Pires, guest speaker via Zoom. The FUUSM choir will
   perform!
   -

   Coffee hour!  Social hall. Ends at 1 p.m.

   12:30ish, Green Sanctuary Committee meeting, RE parlor.
