Regarding coffee hour: There's not much in the way of leftovers. We have
finally consumed most of the tonnage of crackers in stock--although there
are still some, and 1 1/2 bags of tortilla chips). It's going to be slim
pickins at coffee hour unless many people contribute. If you enjoy coffee
hour, *please contribute*.
Water Ceremony

“They both listened silently to the water, which to them was not just water
but the voice of life, the voice of being, the voice of perpetual Becoming.”

—Hermann Hesse, in Siddhartha

Welcome Song “Whoever You Are” Hal Walker

Whoever you are, we welcome you.

Wherever you come from, we welcome you.

Whomever you love, we welcome you.

Welcome / Honoring Indigenous People Martha McGovern, worship leader

Prelude “Mah Chi,” written and performed by Laura Serna-Maytorena

Chalice Lighting “This House,” by Kenneth L. Patton, #444in Singing the
Living Tradition

This house is for the ingathering of nature and human nature.

It is a house of friendships, a haven in trouble, an open room for the
encouragement
of our struggle.

It is a house of freedom, guarding the dignity and worth of every person.

It offers a platform for the free voice, for declaring—both in times
of security
and danger—the full and undivided conflict of opinion.

It is a house of truth-seeking, where scientists can encourage
devotion to their
quest, where mystics can abide in a community of searchers.

It is a house of art, adorning its celebrations with melodies and
handiworks.

It is a house of prophecy, outrunning times past and times present in
visions of growth and progress.

This house is a cradle for our dreams, the workshop of our common endeavor.

Collection of Offerings

Offertory “Walk on Waters,” written and sung by Laura Serna-Maytorena

“The Vessel of Compassion” and

#1074 in Singing the Journey “Turn the World Around” Harry Belafonte

The Young Person from the East with the spirit of Air

We come from the air, living in the air, go back to the air, turn the world
around.

The Parent from the South with the spirit of Fire

We come from the fire, living in the fire, go back to the fire, turn the
world around.

The Leader from the West with the spirit of Water

We come from the water, living in the water, go back to the water, turn the
world around.

The Elder from the North with the spirit of Earth

We come from the earth, living in the earth, go back to the earth, turn the
world around.

Invitation to the Congregation: This is the time for you to come up and
share

where your sample of water has come from and what it represents. Please
line up in both aisles, and then alternate sides to speak at the microphones

and add water to the vessel. (If you would like help with pouring the water
into the vessel, please use the Joys & Sorrows microphone.)

The Four Representatives honor the stories from all directions, refill
their containers from the Vessel of Compassion, and return to their homes.

*Please rise in body or spirit.

*We are of the Spirit, truly of the Spirit, only can the Spirit, turn the
world around.

* FUUSM Affirmation (see screen)
