[Fuusm-l] Norwood Thanksgiving Meals

Dear FUUSM Members & Friends,
If you’re a faithful follower of Dawn’s weekly FUUSM update, then you already know that $800 has been collected thus far to donate to Norwood Methodist Church. Wow!!! Norwood relies on contributions from area churches to fund their yearly preparation of more than 600 Thanksgiving meals, and will be thrilled to receive our donation. 
I plan to help with food prep at Norwood starting at 1 pm on November 26, and will be picking up probably around 40 boxed meals on Thanksgiving morning. We are awaiting a final headcount from the downtown Resource Center before putting the final order in. 
We will be serving meals from 11 am to 1 pm in the Fellowship Hall on Thanksgiving Day. While I’m picking up the meals at Norwood, Shari Ballantyne will be at FUUSM getting coffee ready and setting up tables. 
Although this isn’t a particularly labor intensive effort, any and all helping hands are welcome and appreciated. Last year, we who were there enjoyed a pleasant and cozy morning of coffee and fellowship with our guests and fellow UUs.Clean up is minimal because we served the meals in the Styrofoam boxes they came in, leaving just mugs and eating utensils to wash and put away.  A huge thanks to all of you for helping us open FUUSM’s doors on this Thanksgiving Day. We are very grateful.
