Which part of a fish weighs the most?

*More about Guest At Your (Our) Table,* from Nancy Luthy
Donations may be turned in at any time. If paying by check, please write it
to UUSC, and write GAYT in the memo line. Put your check in a GAYT envelope
available near the boxes, and place it in the collection plate, or give it
to Dawn or Nancy. Do not seal the envelope. Since all checks and donations
will not be sent to UUSC until mid-January, please *date the check for
January 11, 2026*. Nancy will be documenting all gifts, however this
donation will not be considered part of your pledge to FUUSM, and will not
appear on your FUUSM statement.

*Rakers needed this week!*
Despite today's snow, sleet, and slush, the City of Marietta's Leaf Removal
service started this morning. Signs banning parking from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
are along Second Street this morning. They could be collecting leaves on
Third Street as early as Wednesday. Wendy, our hard-working building
steward, could use some help moving the leaves from the sidewalk and grassy
area along Third Street to the curb--*ASAP*. Leaves in the garden area
surrounding our Little Free Library can be raked downhill into the
courtyard, and from the courtyard to the naturalizing area uphill of the
bike rack for the winter (for the sake of the critters in those leaves, and
to build soil). If it's not sleeting and you have a spare hour, your help
would be greatly appreciated, especially moving street-level leaves to the
curb.

*Norwood Thanksgiving Update*
We've already received $880 to donate to Norwood United Methodist for their
community Thanksgiving Meal! Thanks to all who have contributed! That's a
couple hundred less than our support last year. We will collect
contributions through Nov. 15. Write checks to FUUSM, and write "Norwood"
in the memo line. Mail checks to FUUSM, 232 Third St., Marietta, 45750, or
hand them to Dawn when you see her. Norwood is also seeking helpers for
food prep, clean-up, and delivering meals, starting at 1 p.m., Weds., Nov.
26, and on Thanksgiving day starting at 7 a.m. To volunteer, call Norwood
UM Church at (740) 374-5606. We will be serving some of those meals here in
FUUSM’s social hall to clients of the Community Resource Center. To help
with that, contact Shari Ballantyne or Nancy Lee.
