[Fuusm-l] New UU course announcement

Hi all,

Announcing a New UU course …  from Mar 24 - May 12, on Sundays, 9:30 –
10:45 am, in the Social Hall.

Most newcomers come to us with previous experiences in traditional
religions and don’t quite know how to fit into our very different UU
approach to religion.  The New UU course is designed to make the transition
to being a UU easier by explaining the main aspects of the Why, What and
How of it ... a kind of UU 101.  Newcomers who have taken this course tell
us it was very helpful.  So if you are a newcomer, this is for you.  And if
you know a newcomer, encourage them to attend.

Below is a listing of the course schedule.  There will be handouts
available for all the sessions, so you can pick them up if you miss one.
But we strongly encourage you to attend all the sessions you can.  The
discussions during the sessions are important in moving from just getting
information to understanding it.

3/31 Theology.  UU Approach to Theology; UU in Practice

4/7 UU Evolution … Our Journey to Who We Are Now

4/14 Spiritual Practice ...  Connecting with Our Essence

4/28 Religious Education …  Religious Diversity

5/5 Social Justice …  Political Diversity.

5/12 FUUSM Congregation … Governance, Covenant & Participation

We will be meeting in the Social Hall, from 9:30 to 10:45AM.  Darryl Ting,
Rebecca Phillips and Elaine Barr will be

the facilitators.  If you need child care, please let us know ahead of time
so we can make

arrangements for child care staff.
