I can understand Beth Casebolt's reaction, mediation works between groups
with defined leadership and demands, such as labor and management in a
company. We don't have that at this point. We have expressions of
discontent, which are quite varied, but no specific demands. Perhaps we
can decide that the "Dialogue Sessions" succeeded in letting people express
their concerns and leave it at that. Otherwise, if there is a group of
members who want to work with a mediator, the ball is in their court to
articulate their proposals and choose their leadership. Mediation does
require two sides talking to each other, perhaps a mediator can help us do
that.
