*You're Invited to join the /Braiding Sweetgrass/Book Discussion Group *

After viewing the documentary film, /The Condor and The Eagle/, and
hearing the voices of indigenous people of the Americas who are working
on the front line of efforts to protect and save our Earth and all of
us, we've been asking some questions:

- What can indigenous people teach us about our environment?

- Do those teachings integrate with scientific practices?

- What can we do to help?

To get those answers, we invite you to join us in reading and discussing
/*Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the
Teachings of Plants*/by Robin Wall Kimmerer. The /*Braiding Sweetgrass
*/*discussion group *will meet in person**(following Covid protocols as
advised by the congregation) **at FUUSM at 12:30 p.m. on *Sundays May 8,
June 12, and July 10,*with Dawn Hewitt leading the discussion. We plan
to offer Zoom access as well.

*To register for this discussion group,*email Maggie Meyer at
meyer45750 at gmail.com, with “Braiding Sweetgrass discussion” in the
subject line. Provide your full name and phone number. To confirm your
registration, Maggie will send you a syllabus that includes information
on buying the book.

The book is readily available in hard cover, paperback, and digital
formats from various sources online and at the library. Adeline Bailey
will be ordering a small bundle of paperback copies from the publisher
at a cost of $20 each. If you want to purchase your copy through her,
please let her know by email (adesign at suddenlink.net)*by April 5.*

*We hope you'll register soon and join the discussion!
