Joys and Sorrows

Jeanne writes that she and Kim met at a gay bar in 1994 and defied all the odds by building a relationship full of all the joy and experiences of 28 years living together proudly out. They own 2 jewelry businesses together, Jewelry Buyers of Vienna and HeirloomFinds.com, and stay busy with community service.
Kim currently serves on Vienna City Council and is the first openly LGBTQ+ person to be elected to office in Wood County. She is also active with the local Democratic Party, helping to recruit and train candidates for local elections. Jeanne serves on the Board of Directors of the ACLU of WV and volunteers for local political candidates whenever possible.
Kim and Jeanne were featured in the 2018 documentary film Outspoken about the fight for the non-discrimination ordinance in Parkersburg and are founding members of Out MOV, a local LGBTQ+ non-profit that serves both Wood and Washington County. They share their home and their hearts with three rescue dogs.
