[Fuusm-l] Plastic for a good cause/UU Yard Sale August 20

Good morning!
Following up on Rebecca Philips request for plastics for a good cause, may I request that you still donate your plastic bags (via boxes under the long plastic cloth covered table in the fellowship hall) for use at the August 20 UU yard sale?
I will happily donate any plastic that is left over to Rebecca, as her collection cutoff date is August 28.  Perfect timing!
In the meantime, please be thinking of items to donate for the sale.  I will announce days/times that the fellowship hall will be open and staffed for drop off the week prior to August 20.

I know that we have been working to reduce our use of plastic, but if it still manages to find its way home with you, Havar (a local company that works with people with developmental disabilities) is collecting soft plastic. For every 500 pounds collected, they can get a bench made with recycled materials for one of their group homes. An Athens facility has already gotten one, and the Marietta office would like a bench for at least one of the homes here. 
Acceptable plastics: grocery bags, salad and produce bags, deli bags, packaging film, etc.
If you bring your plastics to church any Sunday between now and August 28, I will get them to Linda Veraldo, who is collecting for Havar.
