Women's group will meet Wed.Aug. 11 at 6:30pm, at the church in the fellowship hall.  Shari Miller and Anita Newhart have generously offered to host our August meeting.  The meal will be potluck; anyone with concerns about sharing food is welcome to bring their own meal. Beverages and supplies will be provided. For everyone's comfort, I suggest that we all bring our masks and consider wearing them when not eating and drinking.

Sat. Aug. 14 SUMMER MOVIE NIGHTS AT THE BALLANTYNES' OUTDOOR THEATER

Every Saturday evening in August, Dave and Shari invite you to a FUNdraiser Movie Night. Entry fee: $5.00 per person  - "Theater food" available for purchase, plus beer, wine, and other beverages.  - All money goes to FUUSM.  – Masks optional.  RSVP (740-568-8200) so Dave and Shari know how much food to prepare and how many chairs to set out. Theater opens at 8p.m.; movie starts around 9 or 9:30, depending on arrival of darkness. In case of inclement weather, it will be rescheduled.

Since singing live is not yet approved in the worship service, members of the FUUSM choir, under the direction of Martha Webster, will gather to rehearse and video some new-to-us music for this service. Members will also record their personal testimonies about why they sing with the choir, and why music is an important part of their lives, both at home and in the worship setting.

To facilitate our open live services on Sundays we have need of regular volunteers for Worship Associate, Greeters, Tech support and Collection counters.  Please sign-up to help by emailing the Office as we establish a rotation and schedule of support.

Men's Group to meet in person August 18

Men's Group -August 18 @ 6:00 p.m - the FUUSM Men's Group will follow the in-person, potluck meal format, to be hosted by Al Tuttle at his home, Rising Moon Farm, 3420 Little Sancho Creek Rd, Middlebourne, WV 26149. Al says do not use GPS: contact him (304-758-2745 or tuttlealfred0 at gmail.com) for directions. The FUUSM Men's Group welcomes all men who are members or friends of FUUSM.

"Logan's Cabin: Insight into Multi-ethnic Living on the Ohio Frontier"  - Dr. James O’Donnell, guest speaker               Worship Leader: Suzyn Mills

Dr. O'Donnell is Thomas and McCoy Emeritus  Professor of History at Marietta College, where he taught from 1969 -2011. He served the college as chair of the Department of History, Political Science, Religion and Philosophy, as well as division head; and he served the state of Ohio on the Ohio Humanities Council. Among many awards from Marietta College, he received research grants for his publications. His books include Southern Indians in the American Revolution; Southeastern Frontier, 1540-1840; Cradles of Conscience; Ohio's Independent Colleges and Universities; Ohio's First Peoples; and Out of the Mud: Hiram Carpenter and the Ohio River Valley.               • Yard Sale Set-up in the Social Hall after the service
