For this Sunday, January 29, the Today’s Issues group will discuss two
essays from the January 17 issue of the New York Review of Books:

Page 24, Daniel Bell “The Many Lives of Liberalism

review of three books about the history of liberal democracy

Page 50, “California: The State of Resistance
<https://www.nybooks.com/articles/2019/01/17/california-the-state-of-resistance/>,”
about how California is resisting Trump’s populism.

Both essays can be read on the NYR site without a password.  Let me know if
you have trouble accessing them.

The group meets in the parlor of the Religious Education Building next to
the church at 9:30 on Sunday mornings.  Please do the reading and join our
