This morning during joys and sorrows, I read the words to a song that I wrote. It was in response to the anguish I have felt due to the support of the Trump agenda by many Christians and some people I thought were better than that. So many of the congregation asked for a copy, I said I would put it online. I hope to make a video as soon as I feel like I can perform it well enough to make it public.
It's called True Christian. Feel free to copy and share, but please give me credit. It's technically copyrighted because it's in reproducible form, but I have not registered it yet.

TRUE CHRISTIAN

You say that you love Jesus and your Jesus loves you too;

Your Bible is the word of God that tells you what to do;

Well, Jesus says to love your neighbor as you love yourself;

And you'll never get to Heaven if you care too much for wealth.

Jesus did not preach about your right to have a gun;

He didn't say those not like you are people you should shun;

No, Jesus' message was about how we should love and care;

And when we have more than we need, that we should always share.

How you treat the least of us is how you treat your lord;

I think he meant the homeless and I think he meant the poor;

So Jesus would not turn away the exile at the gate;

There is no room in Jesus' heart for prejudice and hate.

Chorus:

The Bible says that Jesus was a rebel and a Jew;

If Jesus could come back today, what would he think of you?

And would you be the one to take this brown man for a friend;

Or would you be the one to crucify him once again?

After last chorus:

Now who would be the ones to take this brown man for afriend;

And who would be the ones to crucify him once again?
