This Sunday, May 14, the Today's Issues group will discuss two essays from
the May 11 issue of the New York Review of Books

Page 26, Johnathan Galassi, "The Illusion of Utter Transparency," an essay
reviewing two books about the poet Elizabeth Bishop.

Page 55, Susan Dunn, "Slaves in the White House" a review of a book about
Founding First Ladies and Slaves

A file with the texts of the essays is attached.

The group meets at 9:30 in the parlor of the Religious Education building
next to the church.  Please read the articles and join our lively
discussion.
