Dear UU Congregation Leaders and Worship Teams,
My name is Rev. Chris Kapp, and I am reaching out to fellow Unitarian
Universalist congregations in the region to introduce myself and offer my
services for ministerial support.
I am available for a variety of needs, whether planned or emergent,
including:
-
Sunday pulpit supply
-
Sabbatical or maternity/paternity leave coverage
-
Short-term coverage for illness or vacation
-
Officiating rites of passage (weddings, funerals, memorials, etc.)
*My Background & Credentials*
I am a fully ordained minister with 24 years of experience preaching,
interim ministry, and congregational leadership. Currently, I am a member
of the Unitarian Universalist Society for Community Ministries (UUSCM),
and am actively completing my path to full UUMA (Unitarian Universalist
Ministers Association) membership.
Locally, I serve as the Community Minister for the Unitarian Universalists
of the Cumberland Valley (UUCV) in Boiling Springs. Prior to this role, I
served UUCV as their Interim Ministerial Consultant for nearly three
years, preaching each Sunday, covering pastoral care, etc.
I have taught preaching seminars at The Salvation Army's College for
Officer Training and Alliance Theological Seminary in NYC, and have spoken
at national and international events. My curriculum for lay leadership of
worship has been taught around the USA and in Newfoundland, Canada.
I now reside in Carlisle, PA with my wife, sister-in-law, best friend,10
kids [between the four of us], 4 dogs, massive orange cat, isopods, fish,
gerbils, hermit crabs, and a slightly embarrassing number of houseplants.
It's chaos, it's raising kids in covenantal community, and I love every
minute of it.
*Logistics & Fees*
I am happy to travel to your congregation to preach and lead services in
person, or serve via zoom. My travel compensation is based on the standard
UUA mileage reimbursement rates.
For services, my fees generally align with the UUA recommended schedule.
However, I am always willing to negotiate. *It is a core value of my
ministry that finances should never be a barrier for a congregation needing
a minister in the pulpit.*
*Additional Offerings: Training & Retreats*
Beyond the pulpit, I also offer specialized training and retreats for lay
leaders. I am available to design and lead:
-
One-day or weekend-long seminars for Worship Associates
-
Workshops on the art of preaching for lay leadership
Rates for these workshops and retreats are flexible and negotiable based on
your congregation's needs and budget.
I would be delighted to speak with you about your congregation's upcoming
needs, whether for a single Sunday or a longer-term engagement. Please feel
free to contact me at this email address or by phone at 864-652-0611 to
discuss how I might be of service.
In Faith,
Rev. Chris Kapp, M.Div
