Big Questions. Aug. 25
(17 cards).
What do we do for fun? Is fun important? (anon)

 2. How should we conduct our day-to-day lives in the face of the problems of the world today? (eg. climate change, inequality, political strife, etc.) Must we devote ourselves entirely to addressing these issues? What is the balance? Is balance not possible?

As a UU we value all life. Does that also mean the unexplained outside the universe? ie. aliens, cryptoids, Yeti. Would beings educated from the unknown help us?
How do we find balance between the needs of the individual self and the needs of the community? How do we find our core? How do we deal with “goods” that conflict with each other?

To investigate- How is it that some are more privileged than others? How can this inequality be rectified? (JTS)

Our free will comes with responsibility. When we sense others are not being responsible, who holds them accountable? We must communicate our concerns, but we are not to judge. So… how does that work- tough love?

How can I make a difference in my community with limited time to give? How can I make the best choices each day to leave a positive impact? How to not get overwhelmed by the many important causes, needs and suffering across the world.
I always like a service once in a while that focuses on a specific principle of UU to remind us.

I feel a connection to the earth and the world around me. I don’t like labels but I believe Wicca resonates with me. (Owen C- with graphics)

Set intentions. AM
We are one…. Son many pieces of the puzzle, how can we all fit?
What is best for humanity?
Disciplined search for answers, ability to agree to disagree.
How do I fit during this stage of my life?
Developing discernment? Trust heart? Trust head?
Looking inside for answers- Trust it is there. What have I learned from the past?

To grow closer to God and receive personal guidance for each step of each day for myself and for others. I have found that it’s important to honor BOTH the good times as well as the difficult times.
Each person is sacred because connection with Spirit comes from within, more than & in addition to connection with others.
A piece “Peace of God” lives in each person.

Why do we sometimes lose our sense of spirituality?

The question of where do we come from is one explored again and again on a program aired on the History Channel. Their “ancient alien theorists” assert that we are here because aliens either adapted primitive creatures to become humans, perhaps in their image, or lived among the creatures and bred with them, so we’re really their offspring. I don’t know how this would be a service, but it would be interesting. (AB)

I think “Peace” is the most important thing searched for in life, yet so many of us never truly find it. Do we find “peace” when we no longer are? Or is it the quest for it that keeps us going?

How do we protect and encourage the natural creativity that we are all born with?
How do we overcome obstacles to our own creativity? How do we overcome the idea that only the gifted have the right to create? (LAG)

Came from a troubled family, but through the trouble we still gather together. Showing I don’t have to be scared anymore or alone anymore.

I think life is whatever (within reason & law) brings you joy. You can be an artist or a craftsman or whatever. I also feel that peace, service and kindness are essential. It doesn’t have to be anything large. The smallest pebble can make the largest ripple. (JY)

How may we aim to help those around us that are in need of help?
In opening up, should we ask for both their and our protection?
How should we open up to help those that ask for our help, she then said that she has people around her that are blocking her accepting help.
