Thanks, Annie! We’ll address your suggestions in the meeting.

Give me a day or two to consider how to structure Jenni Papp’s Q & A session. I think that would be very productive. During coffee hour? Extended? Over lunch?

Martha

I will be in and out of tomorrow's meeting but I wanted to say that Jay Warmke has committed to a service on the Future of AI.  Available dates:  Oct. 22nd, Nov.  19th or 26th and Jan. 28th.  If you decide this is a good idea it would be good to give him a couple of possible dates since he is super busy right now until Feb.  He will need a worship associate.
Another idea would be Tom Rooney, Sustainable Forestry Director for The Nature Conservancy.  He's working on climate smart forestry.  It has the potential to be a positive reflection.  I don't know him but his name was sent to me to ask him to be on our podcast.
It would be interesting to ask Natalia Rudiak from Reimagine Appalachia to do a reflection - lots of positive things going on there and they have a strong faith group that supports their collaborations with other groups - like unions.
Would it be good to ask the Quakers if someone would offer a reflection on their approach to Active Hope and plans for the next decade?
I am thinking of asking Jenni Papp to stay after the service Nov. 5th for a short Q&A.  Do you have ideas for that type of a discussion etc.?
I was also thinking about partnerships with other faiths and had an interesting conversation with Ginnie McNeil who is going to serve on the Children's RE CL subcommittee.  She says there is an opportunity for us to partner with FACT (the faith group she serves as the SE Ohio rep), the Quakers, and our new children's RE program since it will focus on empowerment, sustainability and resiliency.  There is a Univ. of Dayton professor who is interested in underwriting such a collaboration.  We would most likely need to come up with a small match.  This is an idea I had for year three of the Chalice Lighter Project (to form partnerships with other faiths to increase children/youth opportunities) so this would jump start that idea.
Could we establish dates for Active Hope reflection service - perhaps related to different forms of meditation and how to use it for healing...seeing with new eyes?

Please see attached the agenda for the upcoming meeting of the Worship & Music Committee on Wednesday, September 6.  It will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Parlor.

Please look to the months ahead:
Bring ideas for the worship services on October 15 and November 12.
Check your calendars to see when you could serve as Worship Associate or Worship Leader, especially in December.
How are we going to deal with Sunday being on December 24?   Two services?  Only one?  Which?

Looking forward to seeing you all!
