Dear W&M team,

I got a call this morning from Denise Thomas, who works for the State of Ohio as an ombudsman for Washington County. I can’t remember which state agency she works for, but it oversees quality of care at nursing homes. She’s seeking volunteers to visit nursing homes—to visit people and check on quality of care issues—not inspections, not reports, just a community eye on things. (I’m interpolating on our short conversation.)   

She did not ask to provide a reflection; she asked for a few minutes at coffee hour or some other meeting to explain the agency and what it does, and how we can help. The idea that she might provide a reflection was mine.
