I sent him a note, after Kat inquired if it was just a matter of needing
a ride on the 13th.  I am having trouble with emails and general
Internet because we have been hacked - so not sure what is going out and
what is being kicked back.  Will wait to hear from him.

Hi Anne,

I would love to have a conversation with you guys and would like to put
it across that I celebrate diversity. I grew up Catholic with a small
dose of African Tradition and my wife is Protestant. I am not opposed to
your beliefs and I found the ideas of compassion, love and making each
other better in the 7 pillars. I believe in that too.

So the reason we work with women in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe is
because we want to gently deconstruct some tenants of an indigenous
Christian religious sect in that area that believes in polygamy,
hardline patriarchy and marginalized women to the status of child
bearers and farm labor.

We try to be subtle about it and lift the women's voices by connecting
them to more resources and tools better their incomes and understanding
of how the world works. Look up the " Apostolic Sect of Zimbabwe " for
reference.

I would gladly share that story with you guys and the jokes that come
with it. I don't know if you are comfortable to then pick me up on the
4th because I might have to crunch up on all my work before the visit
since I won't have parts of Sunday.

I belong to a Unitarian Universalist Society in Marietta Ohio and I
mentioned you would be visiting us.  They're wondering if you would
be interested in giving a 30 minute talk (you can also use
powerpoint) on your work on Nov. 6th at 11am.  You could stay with
me until then, and after the service I could take you back to Athens.

They are particularly interested if you are connected with a
religion and how your work (and that religion) might compare in
their ideology with the Unitarian 7 principles

I am not a religious person but I belong to this group because they
offer support for my progressive views and support my work.  The 7
principles are definitely the core of my belief system.

    Hi Annie,

It's okay. I will still be looking foward to it then.

    Thanks for the heads up

        Darlington;

I made a mistake in my schedule and have a meeting on Saturday
        so  I
        will need to reschedule.

I can re-schedule to pick you up on Nov. 3rd and return you on
        the 5th.
