FYI from Lace Lynch, the person doing research for Homecoming found this
info. It seems that Saida Palmer was a kin of Lace's husband. Anie

Her father, Theodore Scott was a teacher in the Marietta Schools married
to Sarah Ann Booth Scott.
I believe her Sarah Ann Booth Scott's father was the first mayor of
Marietta.

Died at her home on Harmar Hill, the 13th, instant, Mrs. Saida M. Scott
Palmer, wife of Major Jewett Palmer.
Mrs. Palmer was born in Marietta at the west corner of Third and
Washington Streets, September 19, 1846 and she spent her entire life in
Marietta. In 1866 on her birthday she married Jewett Palmer, who with
two daughters, Misses Muriel and Winifred Palmer survive her. Mrs.
Palmer was a woman of extraordinary ability. She was a good thinker and
a splendid executive. She had a good talent as a musician and cultivated
that talent to the time of her death. She had been organist of the First
Unitarian Church for more than thirty years. Just five months exactly
followed her mother, Mrs. Scott. The funeral will occur this Tuesday at
the Unitarian Church, with private burial. Marietta Daily Leader
