Sorry this is tardy but it became clear that I needed to get through
Homecoming before I could figure out exactly where we were going with
this last step in the Homecoming process.  The questions listed here are
loosely based on two sources:  A proposal (A Proposal for Membership
Growth at The First Unitarian Universalist Society of Marietta) written
in 2005 by Rev. Diane Dowgiert and feedback from people who were
telephoned, received a post card, or who attended one of the Homecoming
events.  I stumbled across Dowgiert's document (Roger has distributed to
heads of the committees) when I was helping Lace Lynch do some research
upstairs in the RE building.  She has outlined the role of the board,
minister and the membership.  It needs updated but it is a great place
to begin.

I'm sharing this info to explain the basis for the Aug. 7th service.
The goal is to draw on the tremendous positive energy that Homecoming
has generated, and give direction for new, and returning folks that will
be joining us as a result of their weekend experiences.

I've listed the process for the service (we'll be sending out an oos
asap) and the proposed questions.  Any feedback or edits will be
strongly considered.  Please note that we will sing the words to Here
Comes the Sun by George Harrison after the facebook folks sign off, and
then we will dance to coffee hour.  We're being serious, but not too
serious just yet.
