Agenda for June 7, 2017  Meeting of the Worship & Music Committee 

 Parlor  5:00 p.m.

  1.. Minutes of the May meeting for approval  
  2.. Correspondence:  Martha 
  3.. Reports from Specific Task Teams:  
    1.. Aesthetics Team:  Nancy Lee, Gillian Harrison, and Jane Tumas-Serna have installed a Tree of Life for the spring months. 
    2.. Special Music Team: Suzyn  Hungrytown group. 
    3.. Worship Associates Team:  New members -- Andrew Clovis, Amy Miller, Gene Barry, and Dawn Hewitt + Peg Clifford   Martha will send the Summer WA Checklist to new Worship Associates and will revise the Welcome.  Adeline will coordinate with Greeters/Host so that people are made aware of the large print materials and hearing enhancement devices before they enter the sanctuary.  Add help with piano cover. 
    4.. Piano Task Force:  
    5.. Technology Task Force:  The Committee noted that the FUUSM technology support folks.serve the whole congregation in many ways and are not attached to a specific group or committee. W & M suggests that they be given explicit thanks and that a report of their activities be submitted annually and included in the Annual Meeting.    Kat will pass the suggestion to the Board.

  6.. Theme for Year 2017-2018 will be "How do we create the world of our values?" 
  7.. Possible Topics and speakers for future services:  Tibetan Monks, Touchstone REACH Packet, Hungry Town, multiple intelligences, powerful children's stories, ages of women, This I Believe, family stories as carriers of family values, June Teenth celebration, reflections of people who grew up in UU congregation (Jay Phillips, Mike Bailey, Dean Banziger), Bill Bauer on suicide and kindness,  reflections of former ministers, Jim Couts on Jubilee Gardens, LeeAnn Gallucci on recovering from loss, Living Mindfully - Prepare for the Unexpected (Robin Bozian, Anita Newhart, Sue Montera, Virginia Mayle), anti-bullying and Shari's Flower Story, Quill as a storyteller, Quakers on consensus. 
Mark Sibicky on mindset/habits of mind needed for democracy - Martha -- contact again in Summer or September 2017
