2.. Special Music Team: Suzyn is focusing on the Feb. 28 service. Choir will sing in March.
3.. Piano Task Force: Suzyn reported on the coffeehouse.
Andrew McKnight will perform for a coffeehouse on Saturday, February 27, in Fellowship Hall. The proceeds will be split 50-50, with McKnight's minimum set at $300. A free-will donation of $15 to $20 will be requested. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m., and the program will begin at 8:00 p.m.
John Maddox volunteered to be at the door or to sell refreshments and to put the event on Facebook.
Adeline and Suzyn will coordinate publicity (newspaper, radio, television, posters).
4.. Technology Task Force: Martha will talk with Dawn Hewitt about the small projector.
5.. Task Force for the Time for All Ages: Shari Miller, Kerry Blair, Dawn Weidner, Cindy Burton, Diane McMichael, Adeline Bailey, and Ron Tepley. (Rachel Hyde, Gwen Banziger -- possible additions)
6.. Clutter Corps: Wendy Morey has agreed to take leadership. The corps has received our input and recommendations for procedures, and the group is beginning operation. Suzyn Mills noted that there is shelving space within the stairs from the pulpit to the Nursery.
4.. National Universalist Convocation -- Willa O'Neill will be the main coordinator, but she would like another person from W & M Committee to assist. The Committee as a whole will help with the event. Shari Miller has volunteered to serve as a coordinator for the event.
5.. Budget Report and Proposal for 2016-17: The Committee suggested some clarifications (current rate for piano maintenance and pianist compensation increase decided last year) and Martha will send a revised proposal for approval via email.
6.. Holiday UN-Decoration: The tree in the Sanctuary has been dismantled and stored. Thank you, Gillian Harrison!
7.. June 19 activities: We will have a co-led service by Rev. Lynda Smith and Rev. Kat for the Father's Day Picnic at the Multicultural Fair. Chris Keller will reserve the shelter and make arrangements for paying rent for the shelter. She will also see to the sign at the church and the "sentry" at the picnic shelter.
8.. June 26 service: Martha reported that Mike Bailey envisions that live broadcast of General Assembly is feasible this year. He is willing to train someone to do so. Martha will check with Ralph Olander.
9.. Concerns for Buildings and Grounds: We have a report from B & G:
a. B & G will look into the overhead light for the Parlor and the problem of glaring light.
b. The light outside the women's restroom on the Fellowship Hall level is functioning.
c. Larger folding chairs are needed in Fellowship Hall so that all attendees can be comfortable. - still pending
11. Selection of Specific Lamp for Piano: Christopher Purdy (the piano tuner) recommends that the light for the piano be replaced with one that will not damage the wood. The Committee approved that expenditure. We have information for options. Martha will ask Joe Baker to take leadership with Randy on this matter. Is there a problem with the electrical connection needed?
12.. Expenses: The Committee approved the stipend for Myla Kreinik, which will go to a scholarship fund in her son's honor, and payment to Jessica Baldwin for March 6.
Also, please see the Expenses section of the minutes (Christmas Eve expense, Rental of shelter, payment to Rev. Lynda Smith)
13.. The Committee agreed to be a neutral pulpit site for Charleston congregation's ministerial search. The remaining date is March 20.
14.. John Maddox suggested a purse & toiletries project for homeless women or Eve - perhaps to occur in coordination with the worship service by the Women's Group on March 13. Martha will convey the idea to Jane Tumas-Serna and Robin Bozian.
15.. Tapers for lighting candles: We will check whether there is a new supply and where it is stored.
16.. Randy Kidder reminded the Committee of his quarterly day-off. Jessica Baldwin can step in for Choir rehearsal and worship service on March 6.
