Thank you Nancy for responding. Is the womens group this week going to be in the fellowship hall?

Hi, Joyce -
I’m certainly not the official spokesperson for this or any other group of UUs, but it doesn’t look like anyone has responded to your email yet, so I’m sharing my thoughts on your questions.
For the past couple of years, it seems that women’s group has been gathering more often than not at the church fellowship hall. This is partly because we often have more than 15 attendees, and most of us can’t accommodate groups that large in our homes. Also, many of us can’t or do not like to drive far at night. Since most of us live in Marietta, it’s a doable opportunity for fellowship.
As for circle supper, I suspect similar reasons, though I’m sorry you had that experience when you offered to host.
I think it’s just an unfortunate fact that we’re an older congregation (in great part) and plan our schedules and functions according to our limitations.
I’m sure I’m not alone in hoping that you consider coming back to women’s group if, in fact, driving at night is something you are comfortable with. I know everyone would be happy to see you.
Sincerely,
Nancy Lee

I did that once and nobody replied that they would come so I'm not in a hurry to go through that let down again. That is the reason I'm asking if anyone would consider coming?

Do these women's groups ever get together in Parkersburg? I would love to attend but I have difficulty driving at night, . That is why I don't attend the women's group, or circle suppers . Years ago when I was attending the church more regularly I had scheduled to host a circle supper here in my home in Parkersburg. I really was excited to host the event. NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON REPLIED that they would attend so I canceled it. That was a BIG LET DOWN for me It made me feel like if I live in Parkersburg I will never feel like part of the church community. I stopped attending the church. I do attend every Sunday via zoom and I give my pledge money every year and have sent that money religiously for several years.but I don't want to feel like I will always be an "outsider". So back to my original question. If I wanted to schedule a women's group meeting or circle supper here in my home home would people attend ?? I would love to hear your honest thoughts.Thank you Joyce Urbaniak
