[Women] Women's group

About the Women’s Group meeting on Wednesday.

As usual I had not planned to go to the meeting but then Beth moved the
meeting for health reasons to the Social Hall. I began to think it would be
a good idea because I admire Beth and Karen so much. But I never got there
because I could not get a covered dish together and it was too dark and too
late. So, I missed it.

By accounts, on the next day, it was a resounding success, one of the best
meetings. And I was jealous and sorry I had not gone.

The discussion afterwards troubles me, Beth and Karen are giants in the
community and congregation. They care for and work for us and those most
needy in the larger community of Marietta. I love them both for what they
do. They deserve our gratitude and love.

What is the purpose of the Women’s Group if not to support women? What
does it mean to be a host? How can we be more inclusive, follow our
principles and create a beloved community?

Jane
