[Women] Women's group

I don't remember how "bring your own dinnerware" got started, except that it was during the pandemic, when we all were being much more cautious about everything. So it is possible that this just is one of those things that no one thought to change when the situation did. I actually like meeting in the FH because of the ultraviolet air filtration system the church put in (as an asthmatic, I am a Covid weenie and am still not hosting large gatherings in my home, eating in crowded restaurants, or attending events in most theatrical settings) but have no problem with using the church's dinnerware and cleaning up afterwards.

My two cents' worth. It is good to see everyone wherever we meet.

Greetings Ladies,

I very much prefer meeting in homes. Certainly if a person agrees to host and, for any reason, needs to utilize the FH, that is fine. Part of hosting is setting up and cleaning up in my opinion. Women have always stepped up to help when needed. Seems to make since to me that designated people do dishes so each person is not expected to individually keep track all their stuff and wait for a spot at the sink. Plus, if we take turns doing hosting, it makes for a more enjoyable experience for all. An alternative is to use compostable dinnerware if a host wants to avoid dishwashing. We do have a sanitizer to use in the church and lots of dinner wear. I will miss seeing you all over the next few months.

Debra

If the Women’s gathering continues to be at the Social Hall and I am required to bring my own dish, cup, utensils and a dish to share, you can be sure I will not be there.

For months now, the Men’s group have been meeting in the host’s home and are not required to bring their plates and such.

Why such concern? Are you women also asking your friends and family to bring their place settings to your home over the holidays and other times?

I am extremely disappointed with this policy.

It is at the social hall, for sure. Bring a dish to share and your own table setting.

There was a problem with the FUUSM email lists for the past few days. Messages were sent, but apparently, they were not delivered.

Please let me know!

Thank you!!

Yikes! I mixed up my weeks. Hope to see everyone at the social hall this evening. Will probably bring a dessert.
