I plan to come for the Women’s Group. I Will meet at the social hall— if there are 15 or more, I can just go home and check in on zoom since I live close to the church.
Looking forward to a good visit with everyone
Beth

I love that we are such a proactive group! Just checked Ohio's Covid restrictions: 10 people or fewer at people's homes, churches exempt but six-foot distancing, masks, and no singing recommended. Our 15-person limit in the social hall is fine, and right now we have fewer than 15 saying they plan to attend in person. My recommendation: sign up using the list below. The first 15 attend in the social hall. (If I missed you, please add your name.)

Teresa:
Our Task force came up with 15 people for the Social Hall if the chairs are in a circle with the 6 foot distance between. They did the circle format since the AA was meeting at our church. However, I do not think AA is meeting there now. But this is the number our team has suggested. I do not live in Ohio, so I am not aware of Ohio’s rules.

FYI I believe Ohio's mandate suggests that if a group of non-household members will be meeting, then there should be no more than 10 people. I'm unable to meet in person for this but might attend via Zoom

Do we have wifi in the courtyard? As an asthmatic, I am still avoiding most in-person contact and had planned to Zoom from home. (I hate being an utter coward but went through several weeks of bronchitis each of the last four or five years I worked--our wonderful MOV air--suspect that my respiratory system would not manage a Covid infection very well.)

A format that might work (and be simpler than trying to have everyone together for everything) would be for those who want to attend in person to gather in the courtyard at 6:30 for socializing, then head into the social hall at 7:00 for the rest of the program. Those of us attending virtually can meet and greet online before the rest of you sign on.

It occurs to me that we may need a count as no more than 15 people are allowed in the social hall. We will need someone to arrive early to set up the tables and chairs outdoors and mark the 6-foot distances. And for anyone who has not seen them (I know some in this group helped write them), here are the church Covid guidelines.

Current FUUSM Guidelines for Building Use Safety Committee Taskforce on COVID-19 - June 15, 2020 Main Requirements for use of the Social Hall:
1. Maintain 6-foot distancing and “take turns” entering, exiting, and taking seats to allow spacing with a maximum of 15 people.
2. Use facemasks that cover nose and mouth and prevent respiratory droplets and aerosols from escaping.
3. Wash hands/hand sanitizer upon entering building.
4. No Food or Beverages in the building– you can’t eat/drink with a facemask on.
5. All attendees sign in and provide information requested (For confidentiality, the group leader/facilitator can hold the attendance list.)
6. If attendee is not feeling well, they will not be allowed to enter the building.
7. One person in a bathroom at a time.
8. At the end of the meeting, clean and sanitize table surfaces, bathroom fixtures/handles, door knobs/handles, railing and other “touchable surfaces” People/groups using the facility will provide their own cleaning and sanitizing materials.
9. Empty waste cans (including bathrooms) and place waste bags in trash bins next to RE/Office building.
10. Maximum length of meeting – 3 hours

Cindy, I love your idea! I was wondering if we had a tent in the courtyard over a table. Then offer maybe ice tea and cookies with disposable plates and cups. Trash can would be under the table. We would eat outside. Just keep it simple.

If this is not possible, I may take up Cindy’s idea with the wine!

The Covid-19 guidelines for using the building specify constant mask wearing and no food or drink. Those of us participating virtually can drink all we want, but that might not be kind for those in the building.

Calling all FUUSM women: Some of us have been lamenting how much we miss our monthly get-togethers, so women's group is starting

up again! The format will be different from our old gatherings, but we will be together again.

Date and time: Wednesday, September 9, gathering, 6:30 PM; program 7:00.

Place: ZOOM or the church social hall (link to be provided)

Topic: our foremothers

Who do you consider your foremothers? What women have helped to birth the person you are today? Rebecca Phillips will be will be sharing

(briefly) the life and work of a 19th-century Unitarian (or Universalist--there were quite a few worth talking about) foremother and asks that you share the name and story of someone you consider a foremother (or just join us for the company).

Our Covid-safe women's group will look a bit different. Those who wish to gather in person may do so in the church social hall (masks and social distancing required), but we will also be gathering via Zoom (link to be provided). 6:30 will be our time of gathering

and general conversation (though we won't be sharing wine and fabulous appetizers), with check-in and discussion of our topic starting at 7:00.

Hope to see lots of us there. It's been too long!
