Hi friends,
I’ve enjoyed reading your reports. Mine is different. I’m working from home, and I’m working hard, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, as usual. Only the location has changed. Bored? Not at all! My job keeps me busy all day long, and for the most part, it’s intellectually stimulating, and obviously, involves something I care deeply about.
It’s been easy for me to self-quarantine! My colleagues and I use Google Hangouts (which is something like Zoom) to converse throughout the day. We’re still a collaborative team. So far, so good.
My problem is that after sitting at this desk, typing on this computer all day, doing the same thing in the evening has lost its appeal: working on the Sustainability Forum, or the Green Sanctuary Committee projects, or Citizen’s Climate Lobby, or anything else that involves typing on the computer—I just don’t want to sit in the same place for 12 hours a day!
When i was working in the office, I didn’t mind spending a few hours most evenings here. Now, GET ME OUTTA HERE!!
Grateful for the weekend: I went to farmers market, went birding, gardened a little, cleaned the house a bit. Did not enter this room!
I’m grateful for Facebook so that I can stay in touch with my friends and family. I’m grateful for Tim, who tries so hard to stay out of my hair during the day (and often fails). And I’m grateful for my FUUSM friends—who care about me. I look forward to face-to-face interactions and real hugs with you again one of these days.
Please be safe and careful, and stay healthy.
Love,
Dawn H.
