This country chose a relatively unknown and young black man over one of the most qualified persons ever to seek the presidential nomination. As they say on social media, “let that sink in”.

Hi Lori, After you mentioned this article at the wedding I went back and read it this morning. What an interesting and really terrifying thesis. Thank you for coming to sit with us.
I also want to apologize for my comments about social media. Of course you are right to avoid it if it is not your thing. I just had a gut reaction and too much wine. I have been working with social media even before it was social media in my classes and academic work so I just have a gut reaction and a sort of passionate responses. I do think since it is the new popular media of the next generation we need to figure it out. It is what television was to my generation. Everybody hated it and academics avoid it but it has shaped western culture and it's popular culture in so many ways. Well that is what the new media, social media, is to the younger generation. Everyone thought that new media would solve some of the problems of old media, But of course we never dreamed and didn't plan on it being used the way it has been used.
I find myself really upset with our political situation both nationally and locally and trying to figure out what I can do about it. So I apologize for being such a grouch.
Best, Jane

Good article. I never thought of equating the political climate to hours spent doing housework. Interesting concept.
