Hi all,
I'm sending a revised listing of the men who have volunteered to host our Men's Group since the November host was changed at last night's meeting.
The Group has shifted the meeting time to 6:00 PM unless the host wishes to set an alternate time. Generally, the host provides the meeting place, an entree food item; and, if time permits, selects a topic for discussion after a check-in by the attendees. We have met at individual's homes, the church's Social Hall and at restaurants in the past. There seems to be a preference to meet in the Social Hall for most meetings as it offers a central location and adequate space, but use of the Social Hall is the host's decision. Should the host choose to meet at the Social Hall, I suggest recruiting another person or two to help with clean up. Should the host plan for a discussion topic, I encourage the topic be given as part of the announcement to allow time for reflection and thought.

For the hosts: please notify the church office a week or two before your meeting so the particulars can be included in the Order of Service and weekly email updates. It is beneficial to send an announcement email a week or so before your meeting through men at fuusm.org<mailto:men at fuusm.org>. An announcement in our monthly Confluence should also be submitted to the newsletter editor.
For the men on the men at fuusm.org<mailto:men at fuusm.org> list, our Men's Group welcomes all men who are members or friends of FUUSM. If you have not been to one of the meetings or if it has been some time since attending, please consider joining us.
Also, I am including information of the request from Beth Lepore that I made at last night's meeting regarding preparing food for the homeless on Thursdays:
Are there any men in the FUUSM Men's group that would like to help provide a main course for the Community Resource Center?
The women's group has been providing a meal for the homeless each Thursday for the last several years. I am looking for additional helpers to add to the group that has been providing a meal.
At this time we are making a main course for 25 and the resource center provides sides and desserts from donations from Harvest of Hope.
I find it easier if two people work together. For example.....last Thursday two of us each made big pots of chicken/vegetable soup and cornbread. The meals are delivered/dropped off by us about 11:45 Thursday.
The Community Resource Center is.. on Front Street near the Flag store and it...does provide space for lunch as well as shower facilities and washer and dryer.
Please get in touch with me if you have any questions or would like to sign up to provide a meal. With enough help most people are only on the schedule every two to three months.
