[Men] Outside holiday decorations

Hi all,

Normally I would help coordinate the outside holiday decorations with the Men's Group at our church, but I am unable to do so this year. I am recuperating from a knee revision surgery with complications and am facing an Achilles tendon rupture repair surgery on December 1.

I received an email from Martha McGovern this morning that the decorating is planned for this Sunday, December 3. She wrote: "Jane, Kat & I can have materials laid out for easy access. We are planning for a decorating work session right after the worship service on December 3. (Of course, there will be tasty "fuel" for the work. )"

Traditionally, we have run garland along the top of the fence and strung the lights along it. There does need to be a break in the garland and an electrical connection for the lights at the gate to the outside handicap lift. The Men's Group purchased new strings of lights last year that are in individual boxes (the old lights were rolled on circular spindles). Wreaths are placed on the posts and ribbons added. In the past, Darryl has provided and installed extension cords with an outdoor timer to provide the electricity for the lights. It is truly a group effort, but it can usually be done under an hour if we have a half dozen men working on the project.

Please consider staying after services on Sunday and help with the decorating.

Thanks,
Gary
